NATIONAL SCHOOLS 2025 RECAP
In March, over 50 schools from across the UK made their way to the 2025 National Schools Lacrosse Championships in Aldershot, Hampshire. Each year, the competition showcases the burgeoning talent within the UK's school lacrosse scene, with teams across various age groups delivering performances that highlight the sport's competitive spirit and the vital role schools play in nurturing future lacrosse stars.
For those unaware, the National Schools Championship is hosted by England Lacrosse annually, inviting lacrosse playing schools to participate. Given the demographic of school lacrosse in the UK, the competition is exclusively played by girls, usually from private schools although a handful of lacrosse-playing state schools do now participate. The event takes months to organise and is the highlight of the school lacrosse calendar. Come rain or shine, lacrosse players ranging from Under-13s who have only recently picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time, to Under-19s - some of whom already play at international level - fiercely represent their schools in front of hundreds of spectators.
